Holiday Hassle

Beating the holiday rush has been a yearly scenario which I had been trying to analyze and this time I was able to beat it.. congratulating myself in the process. As a busy Nanay (mom) I try to squeeze in shopping for Christmas gifts in between Nanay roles.
So for this year... I had found some solutions to beat this holiday odds..
1. Always prepare a list in advance.. in my case I have a list saved in excel format in my laptop,  I annually adjust the age of the kids so that I can always have an idea on what to buy.
2. Categorize - I make a category for the list, for example, for godchildren, for officemates, for close friends, for relatives and the list will go on.
3. Shop in between the year... meaning you may include buying  a few items even before the 'ber months.
4. Recycle items you have at home.. instead of letting it stay in your storage, recycle it ... but of course check it first that the recipient is not the previous giver..heheh..
5. Buy Christmas wrappers in bulk - in this case when you have extra time, you can craft your gift wrapper in advance... I make mine during lunch breaks in the office. The rest of the leftover wrappers can be re-used next year.
6.Save- I try to save extra shopping money in the first two quarters of the year. this I use in the month of September or October.
7. early shopping - I tried to shop during the September and October months, reason for this is I can have all my department store bought gifts wrapped without hassle because the line is not yet that long.
8.On-Sale - who would not take advantage of sale items during the year...

9. Time -  in the middle of all the bustle and hustle... I have extra time to spend with my family
... this is the most important gift you can always give your loved ones :)

Maligayang Pasko!
